The case
With their backs engraved with their name and blood type, these Carrera 1158CHN models (beautiful with their heavy, slightly cushion-shaped yellow gold case and their automatic caliber 11; hence the first two numbers of its reference) are which have become highly sought after pieces by collectors and a true symbol of the golden age of motor racing.
More specifically, this chrono has a 42mm pink gold case and offers an opaline gray dial and a duo of stylized numbers 8 in the center of the dial. Positioned horizontally, they evoke the double buckle drawing the numbers of Jack's 88th birthday and recall the precious and infinite character of the heritage he built and bequeathed to the brand.
The movement
Faithful to the aesthetics of the 1158CHN model (this is one of the few common characteristics between the two models), only the two chronograph counters at 3 and 9 o'clock are contrasted with sunray black in reference to racing watches. As for the counter at 6 o'clock, it did not exist in the original version. The silhouette of the date window appears in tone on tone whereas it was black on the vintage model.
On the engine side, this limited edition is equipped with the Manufacture Heuer 02 chronograph movement and its 168 components including a column wheel and a vertical clutch, for a (very comfortable) power reserve of 80 hours. The visible oscillating weight is engraved with Jack Heuer's motto "Time never stands still, why should we?" "
The bracelet
On the wrist, the black alligator strap bears Jack Heuer's signature in gold letters. This exclusive tribute watch is available for pre-order since November 19, 2020, then in TAG Heuer stores and online from March 2021.
